So, this happened over a decade ago. The bride is getting dressed at the last minute before rushing to the ceremony, it's a zip-up dress, and the dress rips. What to do?

I've discovered since then that military trousers usually don't have zippers! Buttons are more reliable and easier to fix in the field. Zips are more difficult.

Luckily, a bridesmaid had a sewing kit. Super well-prepared. The zipper couldn't be repaired, so the bride was sewn into her dress, and people made jokes about the groom needing scissors later on.

Since that time, I've always carried a basic sewing kit in the car, but ironically have never needed it for dress repair. The closest I've come is people asking for a safety pin.
