About me

I was interested in playwrighting first, and that led me to acting. The awkward headshot you can see was for an extras agency.

Acting led me to filmmaking, which led me to weddings.

I like sculpture, philosophy, surrealism, Norwegian and escape rooms.

Video style

When I'm filming, it's all about candid. Natural, unposed, authentic. Fleeting moments. Little, random moments. Quirky moments.

I kind of hate fake. I'm never going to ask a bridal party to jump for joy. And I've never asked seven different people to help a groom put on his shoes and jacket. The odds are that he can figure it out himself.

I think if you watch one of my videos, you'll find there's a lot packed in, and there's a lot of heart. You'll feel like you've experienced the entire day, and you'll have a sense of who the couple are.

And, more than that, hopefully you'll feel something. And I guess that that's my main pitch to prospective customers -- if watching a video of complete strangers makes you feel something, imagine how much more impactful watching your own video would be.

Photo style

The bulk of my photos are like my videos. They're photojournalistc, documentary. They're candid. Lots of smiling and laughing. I want the photos to scream off the screen and take you right into the moment.

I like if there's a sense of movement, and if I've caught people mid-action.

The focus is on the emotion and the relationship rather than the pose.

Wedding reception guests dancing and celebrating with raised arms in a dimly lit venue.

When I can find them, I like busy scenes with foreground, middleground and background, and stuff happening everywhere.

But some posing is unavoidable for photos.

For the couple shoot especially, I do like eye-catching, stylised shots. I'm a sucker for a reflection, a sun flare or a silhouette.
