A look inside the life of a wedding photographer/videographer.

Some things I don't leave home without:

(1) Earplugs. Loud reception music, week after week, will damage your hearing. I met a photographer once who even used his Apple watch to measure the decibels; it indicated when the noise level was "dangerous".

(2) Energy drinks. When the wedding finishes at midnight, I've been shooting for 16 hours, and there's still a two-hour drive home, it sometimes feels like a can of Monster is the only thing standing between me and death.

(3) Bridal repair kit. Travel sewing kit, safety pins, scissors. One day, it'll save the day.

(4) Spare pair of pants. These have saved my day. They saved me walking around the entire rest of the wedding with gaffer tape attached to my backside (which some videographers have had to do).

(5) Bug spray. Country wedding + night time + video lights = mosquito dinner time.
